Review of 2025 from Bass Sox Mercer’s Transaction Team

Bass Sox Mercer closed 62 transactions in 2025. Those transactions took place in 23 different states, covered 52 linemakes, and involved 80 rooftops. The number of closings exceeded our total from 2024, which was 60 closings.

The closed transactions involved dealerships located in Alabama, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. We are currently working on transactions in 19 different states. 

The closings involved the following brands: Audi, Big O, BMW, Bobcat, Brandt, Buick, Cadillac, Can-Am, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Clark, Dodge, Doosan, Dorsey, Ferrari, Ford, Genesis, GMC, Hardcore, Harley-Davidson, Honda (vehicles, off-road, and equipment), Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar, Jeep, Kawasaki, Kayo, Kia, Land Rover, Marine Travelift, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Midland, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Paisano, Peterbilt, Polaris Off-Road, Porsche, Prestige, Ram, Sea-Doo, Shuttlelift, Suzuki, Thermo King, Toyota, and Yamaha (off-road, equipment, and watercraft).

The buy-sell market in 2025 ended on a high note after experiencing a dip in the first and second quarters. The fourth quarter saw a large number of deals go under contract, which should result in a significant number of closings in the first quarter of 2026. We expect 2026 to be another active year.
